4 Keys To Effectively Leading Others
5 Levels of Listening:
- Non Listening: when a person chooses not to listen to any part of the conversation.
- Passive Listening: you are able to carry the conversation with little to no participation.
- Limited Listening: while in conversation, you are listening as best as you can by tuning in and out of conversation.
- Selective Listening: you recall the main point/ or big idea; however, you missed the details.
- True Listening: this is listening at the highest level.
- Questions are a way to start conversation; but listening intently encourages the conversation to continue.
The ART of Listening:
Another approach to listening and understanding others is the ART of Listening….
Will improve listening skills and improve communication with people.
Acknowledge: don’t interrupt at any point! Instead, acknowledge what’s being said. ( use head nods, eye contact, hmmm)
Repeat: rather immediately jumping into conversation, & talking, _____ Pause, and translate what was shared.
Translate: Simply repeat what’s been said, this will heal with clarity and understanding.
